Child Safety Standards
Version: 2026-10-01.2
1. Adults 18+ only
- To create an account (with email, Google or Apple) we ask for your date of birth, and our server rejects sign-ups from anyone under 18.
- For couple profiles, both people must be 18 or older; we check each person’s date of birth.
- If we detect, or someone reports, that an account belongs to a minor, we close it.
2. Zero tolerance
The following is forbidden anywhere on Poliamore (profiles, photos, private album, messages, plan chats, plans, places and reviews):
- Creating, uploading, sharing, requesting or linking to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including AI-generated or altered images, drawings or any sexualized depiction of minors.
- Grooming: contacting, building trust with or manipulating a minor for sexual purposes, or asking an adult to facilitate that contact.
- Sextortion or any threat or pressure to obtain intimate images of minors.
- Trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation or offering encounters with minors.
- Sexualizing minors in text, photos or conversations, even as "fantasy" or "role play".
- Including minors in profile, private album or plan photos in sexual or suggestive contexts.
3. How to report in the App
- Profiles: in Discover or on the person’s profile, open the menu and choose Report.
- Chats: in a conversation, open the menu (⋯) and choose Report; you can also long-press a specific message and choose Report message. In a plan’s group chat you can report messages the same way.
- Plans, places and reviews: use the Report option on the plan or place page, or next to each review.
- Choose the "Underage" reason (or another that applies) and add details if you want. You can block the person in the same step. We don’t tell them you reported them.
- You can also block anyone: they stop seeing you and can’t message you.
4. How to report by email
Write to [email protected] with the subject "Child safety". Include the profile, plan or place name and a description of what you saw. Do not send us copies of images of minors: downloading or forwarding them may be a crime. Just tell us where they are in the App.
5. How we moderate
- Every uploaded photo (profile photos, private album, chat images, plan and place photos) is automatically analyzed with Sightengine, which estimates, among other things, whether a minor appears and whether there is sexual content.
- Images showing signs of a minor together with sexual content are rejected and never published. Borderline images stay under review until a member of our moderation team decides. If automated analysis is unavailable, new photos stay in manual review.
- A human team reviews every report with the relevant context (for example, the reported message or plan), and we prioritize "Underage" reports.
- Automated tools are not perfect: community reports are essential.
6. What we do about CSAE or CSAM
- We remove the content immediately so nobody else can see it.
- We permanently close the responsible account.
- We securely preserve, with restricted access, the information needed (the report, account data and relevant logs) to provide it to the authorities, for as long as the law requires.
- We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline and to the competent authorities of the relevant country. In Colombia, to the National Police (Centro Cibernético Policial), the Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía) or the ICBF, as appropriate.
- We cooperate with law enforcement and respond to valid legal requests in accordance with the law.
7. Legal compliance
We comply with the child protection laws that apply in the countries where Poliamore is available, including, in Colombia, Law 679 of 2001 and Law 1336 of 2009 on sexual exploitation and child sexual abuse material, and Law 1098 of 2006 (Childhood and Adolescence Code).
8. Help outside the App
- If a child is in immediate danger, call your country’s emergency number (123 in Colombia, 911 in Mexico and the US, 112 in Europe).
- NCMEC CyberTipline (international): https://report.cybertip.org
- Colombia: Te Protejo, https://www.teprotejo.org, and the ICBF 141 hotline.
- Other countries: find your national hotline at https://www.inhope.org
9. Child safety point of contact
Our designated point of contact for child safety matters, including for authorities and child protection organizations, is [email protected]. We handle these messages as a priority.
